Why do you need a road to mountain bike... if a raptor can get through it I bet I can get through it on (or under) a bike...

Here's the second vid. This is from the run out when B and I took off from camp earlier than the group.

(YouTube is still processing the HD version)

xjr... turns out I don't have vid of you catching air. I think its there, but in most of the vids all you see is dust. Sorry bro!

Great work on the video Jason. You captured that stretch of the trip which had some of the nicest geography - the mountains along the trail and their color, the trail, the stream and the water crossings (seemed like you took the last, deep one a bit quickly). You did a terrific job with the video camera and editing (and music) as well. All-in-all a fantastic trip with videos capturing the essence of the trip. Thanks for taking, editing and sharing the video with us.

Questions: How did you align the camera to include just enough of the Raptor's hood? It was very well framed. How much video (minutes or memory) did you capture over the three days? Did you use one SD card or multiple? (Curious how much per GB of card capacity).

Thanks Dan! I enjoy reliving and sharing the experiences we have.

The ContourHD has a rotatable lens, as well as two aiming lasers.

In theory, you shoot those lasers at the center of your target, make sure they're level and there ya have it. In my case, I found the lasers too washed out, so I basically eyeballed it. You can see, especially in the first vid, the mount changed over the days (as I pulled the camera down from time to time). Before I left, I ran a couple tests with various positions, found what looked right to me on screen, then committed how that mount/camera positioning looked to memory. Then, out there, I just tried to replicate that mental picture.

It sounds more complicated than it is. You just get a sense of what the camera is going to see, and you work from there.

I have tons of raw footage. Maybe 10gb worth. At the settings I used (720p 60fps) I get about 15 minutes per gig; so that's about 150 minutes of video. I cherry picked the best for the vids above; much of what I recorded was dust... really hard to see anything 'cause we were so close together much of the way.

Next time I'll play with angles and different mount spots. There was a stretch where I turned the camera around and tried to get B doing his thing. But all I caught was the top half of his truck, and a whole lot of sunroof. Also I'd like to see the suspension work, so I'll probably figure something out near/inside the wheel well.

I carried 2x 8GB MicroSD cards. In the future, I'll carry 2x 16GB cards, just for convenience.

Thanks again!

Hey J...I've been looking into cameras and from what i've seen yours is one of the best. What model is it and how much do they cost if you don't mind me aslking? Did it come with the attachment for the roof as well?
