Not too many 18 whealers out there without a turbo. I think 250 uses a turbo diesel rather than pure displacement. If the epa allowed a two stroke diesel , that would be a motor

And power. LR probably gave him a lot more control and fewer limitations than he had at Ford.

Worst case for Raptor fans is he might have bailed on Ford if he felt like the company-wide "vehicle of the future" push was stealing too many resources from his performance vehicles.

I'm glad for him, but I am worried what this means for Ford Performance. Most likely business as usual, but still, if he was indeed 70% of the force behind the Raptor, it is concerning for the future of the truck.

Flip side is that it is well enough established now that they are releasing the Ranger version, so it may be as formulaic as the GT series now.

All that to say, I'm a bit concerned about the effect on innovation at FP going forward, but not too worried about the Raptor line.

Biggest risk is without a visionary leader, the Raptor will turn into a focus group lead design. 90% of Raptors are pavement princesses and that influence could cause the Raptor to devolve from an offroad beast to a luxury SUV with a factory lift kit.

Damn, it's a good thing he pitched it that fourth time, or none of us would be here lol! He did some great work and I'm sure will be an asset to Land Rover, here's hoping upcoming Ford engineers follow in his footsteps.
