As you can see, the rear seats are nearly identical to the 35's. So, for the $11,400 premium you get 37" tires, different wheels, ONLY 2 Recaro front seats and different shocks (may be slightly better, may not be noticeable) and that is it. If you are like me and want different wheels and maybe tires, it becomes less appealing. I now see why Ford made the 35' wheels so hideous, to lure people to pay a hidden ADM.

Supporting vendors right here on FRF will help you out with pretty much whatever wheel you want.

You’re right, it’s probably what most would classify as a ‘rip off’, kind of like the tailgate step being married to the moon roof - another rip off.
Unfortunately, the days of a la carte option ordering are gone. So basically, for 90% of us we are essentially paying some additional mark up for options we don’t or won’t use to have the 3 or 4 options we truly want.

It’s a high profit vehicle for Ford and the stealerships, no doubt, but let’s be honest:

Bītching about Raptor option costs is the pinnacle of #FirstWorldProblems

I'll be the bad guy here. Not that it justifies the package price but you do get the upgraded dual valve shocks, seats, upgraded carbon accents, tires and "upgraded wheels". It definitely not worth $11k but it's probably north of $6k in parts alone. Tack on R&D, overhead, G&A, and profit then you'll get your $11k easy.

The scam is making you get it all together but that's just how it is with manufacturers these days.

Unless you are buying a new Porsche 911. You can option anything you want for a price. Their build simulator is crazy with the amount of things you can option. But that's how a base 911 Carrera got from $95k to $140k delivered real quick

I know I'm in the minority but I really liked the blue recaros on the Gen 2s and Gen 3s. It's the only option I wish I had gotten.

OP, I did the flip back and forth thing on the two pictures... There's literally no difference. I felt like I was playing one of those time waster games trying to spot the difference. So they took away the red stripe and then cheaper out on the seats too?

"Upgraded" is subjective. The 35 has standard accents, whether you think the 37's interior accents are "upgraded" is a matter of personal preference. Ford website calls them "unique" not upgraded which doesn't mean they are unless they are real carbon fiber, which I doubt. Dual valve shocks may or may not be anything that can be measured, time will tell what the "value" is in those with real world use and reviews. You get 2 front seats not 5. Tires are the same except size. Wheels are nicer but if you are swapping then it is a non-factor.

$11k for shocks that may or may not be better, 2 Recaro seats and different interior accent bits. I would imagine that 2025 will get an interior Recaro option like the Blue Accent, which sadly is not available now bet I bet a lot of folks would pay $5k for it if it were.

Im not disagreeing with you but all of those things cost Ford money, research, overhead, rates, and a margin. They could save money and not offer any of this stuff for a discount...oh wait thats the 35 package.

Vote with your money. Value is in the eye of the beholder. You could pick apart a F-150 with upgrades vs a Raptor and question if there is any real value there. I think most of us would agree there is but I know there are people that think Raptors are a waste of money.
