I have to say I am envious. I hope to have all my stuff together next year to make this event!

Have fun, be safe, and post lots of pics and vids. I will be living vicariously through you. :)

Participants!!! I wanted to let you all know about a hazard on the trail. I don't think GLRE had this on the route, so I wanted to pass it along. It's a relatively sharp corner that is slightly off camber and downhill (depending on direction). If it's slippery, it's easy to shoot off and hit a tree. Don't believe me? I know an FBI Special Agent that is happy to set you straight!!

So on your GPS, create a waypoint for the following:

N 46 degrees 01.1470
W 87 degrees 41.2810

I have it marked and will call it out when we get close. I unfortunately don't remember which direction we'll go through this point, if it's uphill or downhill. Either way, it can be sketchy so better to be prepared.

/\ /\ I agree, I would love to make it to this one and many more but time and distance is a killer for me

I hear ya. It will be a trek for us too. The wife sent me an outline of our plans for the year earlier today because she is trying to map out her leave/vacation time. She had "do a Fall trip and plan for the SNOWBALL 2016" on there so I guess I have talked enough about it that it landed. LOL...

Hahaha! I don't think I can mark the coordinates on my gps, so let me know when we get close so I can 1). SLOW down and 2). stop to take a picture of the two trees from last year!

When we went past during pre-run, there was missing bark, like it took a recent hit. Don't worry, I'll be calling it out. If we head the same was we did last year, I'll slow and we'll pass it in silence!
