Would of been nice if the equipment list for Snoball would of stated what tires NOT to bring. I am sure he could of brought different tires but coming from south Texas, who would know....

Seemed dangerous being so close, good thing the strap didn't bust.

People complained about rear amber being required if they tried to specify what tires... He made it, granted I wouldn't want to on Grabbers but it can be done. Last year I ran Nitto Trail Grapplers which were awesome in deep snow. On pavement with a very tiny amount of snow not so much. Made a 90 degree turn on 39 during the drive up. Apparently my truck was tired of pavement lol.

I agree with lab that it would be tough to recommend against tires, but I definitely agree with your last statement. I did not like that video at all, very unsafe.

I did the pre run with my new BFG KM2's and hated them so much!!! They were awesome on deep stuff but trash on anything else. Shit I needed 4wd in the parking lot to back in!!! I would slid in all the turns and had such a hard time stopping I needed to stuff it into the bank a few times to avoid hitting Keith!!! Came home bought a tire sipper, sipped them all (2 cuts in small lugs and 4 cuts in big lugs) and wow on a 1-10 scale unsippeed they were a 1 after I sipped them they were a 10 and thats no BS!!!

Just to play devils advocate... The initial yank is where all the force was generated, after that the strap was already loaded and doubtful that a couple of half tons with no traction pulling against each other are gonna snap a 30k lbs strap. Had they let it go slack and then hammer on it, again and again, with people standing next to the strap.. Well, lets just say there's a reason I never use shackles.

Great pictures yet again Chris :favorites13:

For those tires like KM2s and Nitto Trails there is no factory sipe, so any sipe will be a great imporvement. Great improvement, but extra sipes will only lead to more chunking at events like havoc or trr fyi

Snoball1 I had my MTZs with good factory sipe, siped additionally at disctire. Snoball 2 & 3 my toyo factory sipe was more than fine. Jordan has run 2 snoballs in 2wd 98% of the time with the nitto trails, so it is more than doable. IMO, the Only tire that should be on a no-fly list for this event are the grabbers.
