That sucks, although I did not have any squirrels or rats chewing the inside of my engine bay, I did have rats starting to make a nest and eating inside the engine bay that could’ve lead to damage. I bought these and taped them down to the airbox and ended up catching one very large rat. More than likely it’s not a squirrel it’s probably a rat that did the damage to your components.

I know here in the northeast squirrels and mice are more than happy to munch on wiring. It makes me glad I have plenty of cats, coyotes, and foxes to keep them under control around here.

you guy do know the Ford Raptor was named after the Lockheed Martin F-22 fighter jet and not from a dinosaur. But whatever float your boat it's ok.

I had some squirrels stash some bread on my turbo. I had been smelling coffee beans for a few days when I parked my truck. One day I had to pass a herd of sheeple before my exit, when I get off the exit there is another raptor who is bone stock in front of me. As I wait for the green light I notice smoke coming from the hood vent, I quickly took a right on red and pulled into a lot to find this smoldering on my driver side turbo.

Pretty sure they actually named it after both the common name for birds of prey and the dinosaur (which is where the birds’ name comes from too). The plane is also named after the bird. Thus, they're all named after the dinosaur.

Terminator and condor were also on the table. Thankfully, condor didn't win out.

Try some Fresh Cab botanical rodent repellant. I hang a couple bags under the hood (firewall area) and it has worked well for me. Most farm supply stores and tractor dealers carry this product.
