TAIL GATE LOGO BUBBLE HIDE ATTEMPT. Opinions.

Well boyzzzzzz,

I hate the big chrome bubble holding the back up camera. Its not whats needed on a NO CHROME EXTERIOR. It should have been made Black or body color or the same color as the logos on the tail gate and the 6.2L logo.

So I made a one piece trim ring and painted it with the Puewter paint I used on the SVT backing color strips.

I Made a tape template, layed it over my TRIM BRITE rocker panel gaurd material I mentioned in another thread. Cut it out and test fit it. Painted it up with the rattle can and let it dry. Stuck it on and I think its not so bad. It atleast lets me see if I want to paint the whole logo and not do the over lay. Although the over lay can be peeled off in 3 seconds with NO DAMAGE to the original Chrome.

So look and see if its a yes or no mod. I think its so so. Here are a few pics.

I definitely think it helps, but after seeing the pewter on your SVT side vents, I expected this to look darker. I'm in the same boat as you.... Not a fan of the chrome bubble at all.

I'd like to try something like this but go much darker..... Probably black actually.
Then throw a custom decal over the Ford logo to eliminate the rest of the chrome.

This film comes in Black Pebble grain as well. Its not as thick and it will peel off easy at first but tends to stick in the long term better. Better as far as it stays on more if ya want it off. The clear sticks fine as well but its thicker and stays more pliable. I will try and make one from Black and see what it looks like installed. It kinks easier than the clear as well. Here is a pic of the black on one of my Buell tanks.

Lol - "BallsDRAG" comes to mind after the extensive explanation about nut dragging on another post...
A note on that, when using a ladel to scoop yer nuts outta the toilet bowl - you might wanna consider coating that with Tint Tape to reduce the shock from the cold stainless steel...
Just a thought...(no, I'm not thinkin about yer nuts - just shivered when you posted the stainless steel ladel info)

Well about 10 years ago I logged on a LC 1500 forum and I had just finished a 600 mile day in 100 plus heat. We were spose to go out to eat with our wives after the ride. We, all the guy's that rode, were all to tired and wipped to go out so we got the evil eye and the girls went without us anyway. My BUTT was DRAGGIN and I just didn't want to go or do ANYTHING!

Back to the forum, I had to come up with some ******** name or something to sign on with. BDRAG- BUTT is DRAGGIN popped into my head and I thought what the hell. I figgered I was just looking at the forum and it was not gonna be something I was gonna get hooked on. My first forum experiance!

Well 10 years later I am still on that forum and still meet with many members someplace in the country every year once or twice. Put faces and meet who you type with on line. I wrote that thread MUG SHOTS because it inhances the forum experiance, know who is who. makes it face to face when its not! AHhahaaaaaaa.

That LC forum is an EXTENDED FAMILY for me now. Many of us have become close friends over the years. Its a gret fealing to have a forum member walk up at a gathering as we call it and have them walk up and say YOUR BDRAG! HAhahaaaaaa. I am so and so, we have talked for years. So BDRAG is the name I use on any forum I play on. Many thought it was for BOARD DRAGGER because of my titanium antics while blastin a curve.

Othe nick names like the one everyone uses every day for me since about 1990 is SHAMU. Worked at Lovefield on Corporate jets. I'm a fat bastard and while out on the ramp working a Southwest plane painted like a killer whale taxied by and a loud mouth fellow employee yells theres your momma SHAMU! HAhaaaaa. It stuck! SHIT! Hahahaaaaaa
