Sync and phone question

When my Iphone 4 is synced to my truck, I don't get a notification tone from my phone when I receive a text message, it just vibrates. Anyone know how to fix this? According to the manual Iphone is not supported by sync for text notifications. I just want my phone to make the sound. Thanks

On the phone go to Bluetooth > Sync > Enable Notifications

^^ iPhone text messaging does work with Sync. It will notify you and read the text message to you. I've recently start getting the message "this phone is not compatible" although it has worked previously. I think I need to do a soft reset by disconnecting the battery.

I have a 2013 ford raptor and the latest sync update, and i cant make sync to recognize mobile apps, whenever i say movile apps doesnt show pamdora. Conmected as usb and BT.

Agreed, before I updated Sync my text messages were recognized but now they are not. I have an iP5.

Hmmm.... I have an iphone5 as well but I think the text messaging was working after the sync upgrade. I'll try the battery disconnect later to see if that resolves my issue.

My 13 says that it doesn't support texting on my iPhone either. I wish it would.

Huh. Must be a limitation with iOS7 on iPhone 4. Good time to upgrade to v5 for cheap while all the fanboys scramble to get 5s/5c.
