I’m finalizing my light set up today (finally) and need a switched (ignition) power source to fire up my SPod controller. The SPod is mounted to top of fuse box so something in fuse box or near by would be ideal.

Anyone know where I can grab a switched power source?

Thanks

why not use one of the aux switches?

the wires are right next to your fuse box and battery on the passenger side of engine bay.

Otherwise, pull out the owners manual and find the fuse box diagram. Use one of the fuses that's "ignition switched" to tap into.

Got my lights up and running with the Spod!

But still would like a switched power source under the hood!

I’d like a picture from the side to see the clearance between lights and grill. Also if you could get a clear shot of how/where the wires come out to power the lights. I have the same mount, thinking about which lights to use. I’ll look at my owners manual to see which fuse I tied into for my SP-9100, I also used an add-a-fuse tap to get my ignition power. Sounds like you plan to do the same.

The upfitter switches are a good suggestion and are the only approved location to source ignition power. Tapping into random fuses that have 12V ignition power is not a good idea and can result in damage to the fuse panel or components on the circuits the fuses are protecting.
