For those who have swapped out one tuning platform for another, after returning to stock from the original platform, did you start or drive your Raptor with the stock tune first before loading the new tuning platform?

Or after returning the ECU to stock did you go straight to loading the new tuning platform without start up or driving?

I will be swapping out my nGauge for a Cobb Accessport. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

Subscribed. I'm about ready to roll over 60,000 miles and be out of warranty and was wondering the same thing.

I currently have a Livernois tune and am thinking about MPT vs Cobb and adding CAI + upgraded intercooler.

Shouldn't be any issue using the nGauge to revert back to stock and then immediately install the Accessport without starting up/driving. The only possible concern would be battery health - current draw during a reflash can be pretty substantial, so if you live in a cold environment or have an older battery, voltage could drop too low during the reflash and cause the flash to fail. If that were to happen, the AP can recover the ECU without having to remove it, but you would need to put a battery charger (10A is ideal) on the truck before recovery would work.

Just to be safe, I would take the truck for a short drive after the uninstall of the nGauge to make sure the battery is properly charged.

Most appreciate your response! I like what y'all are doing down at Cobb. Looking forward to installing the Accessport and getting back on the road.

I have everything to swap to COBB stage 2 and hopefully installing this weekend assuming the weather participates. I bought a garage heater as the anticipation is killing me. I have been piling garage parts for the past 4 weeks.


1. Whipple IC
2. Whipple CAI
3. AMS inlet turbo tubes
4. Mishimoto IC piping kit
5. Turbosmart BOV
6. Cobb accessport with stage 2 + TCM upgrade


I just reverted back to stock from the Livernois tune. I could definitely tell the difference going from 91 tune to stock. I wish I could get 93 octane around here.

I have placed my order and should be making the swap on Saturday from MPT to Cobb (Goosetune). I will do some 0-60 runs and dynos both way for a comparison.

I did the platform swap last weekend. Cobb Stage 2 to ORA550. Did the uninstall and pretty much loaded the new platform right away.
