Here's a slight twist on this. Instead of using the EL tape, I used Reflective stick-on parts from West Marine ($6.79). The reflectors are arranges in small squares and reflect light at all angles:

That's just too sweet! Thanks for the pics. Question... do you think the glow tape would shine thru the Reflective tape? Like, reflecto tape in the daytime and magic SVT at night??

Possibly - the reflective tape is not opaque, if I put a flashlight behind it it shines thouough.

Awesome write up John. I ordered 2x of the EL kits today and want to do this install.

Any chance someone could give more details on the wiring? I'm not sure where to run the wiring to. Thanks.
