The SVC rear bumper with the hitch is great and so is the OEM trailer brake controller. With those most truck duties can be done without using the bed. In reality, lifting the truck is just 1" typically and does not affect on-road much. Going wide long travel would I guess affect parking but they daily fine otherwise.

I've got 175k on my first-gen and its still a stud, I'll probably run it until the tri motor CT I ordered gets here.

More like 50k, once you get bedsides painted, shocks, etc
The other thing to consider is if you plan on linking the rear, you plan to off-road at a different caliber than before. Which means your going to need a front suspension that can keep up ($20k), and all the appropriate Safety equipment that’s on par with the driving capability, cage, seats, harnessed, instruments ($10k), and you’ll need more power as the stock drivetrain will max out before the suspension can stretch its legs, so really to “link the rear” you are really signing yourself up for some $80k build...

but I’ve had full debates on FB about guys saying they can link their prerunner builds for under $2k. Which is like saying a Prius can off-road as much as a raptor haha

You and I both, I just have a feeling once I start going all in on a build I will need the truck for more daily duties. I bought it beginning of last year and have 5k miles on it so far ( mostly off road miles) but I just know I will end up missing this to were I will need to buy another truck for daily duties lol

yup same. I still use my truck to load camera equipment and cases for work so once I eat up a ton of space in the bed I may start running into problems.

This is where a small enclosed trailer with good security locks shines. You can have the trailer rigged and locked down at home, just hitch up and you're packed to shoot photos.
