Jealous.... I need to convince my wife to go next time. Not sure it will convince her to let me buy anything though lol.

We need to do a trip with wives sometimes cause I know Kristine would be more willing to come if there were other women there, hahahaha.

My wife would be more willing too. But there would have to be better facilities than what was in Barstow. She would not be cool with the hole in the ground bathroom with no running water lol.

So here is the pic. Keep in mind I drive pretty hard and will take the bigger hits on the driver side to spare the co driver as much as possible. It was only the driver side that broke off. The tower itself held up great as expected.

I had a blast Saturday after a dry spell of no offroading. I haven't stopped smiling yet. And thank alot SVC now I'm looking at class 10 vehicles to buy. Damn this hobby gets expensive.

Damn! Who doesn't drive hard, or at least think they do lol. Sure does seem like some sort of brace under the bed rail would helpful, but how to get it under there?

I think there is a lot of give on the plastic bed rail. The guy fixing mine was suggesting to remove the rail and put something in there so the rack has a sturdier platform. I was also thinking of getting some rubber like a tire tubbing to put directly above the bed rail and under the light bar to make it more water proof as I was getting water in the bed from the bolt holes. Ideas?

Do any of the Terrain Raptors who went to this work on Von Karman in Irvine? I work on Von Karman too and pass a Terrain that looks very familiar from the meet up.

In my youth, partaking in desert runs in SoCal, it was always: " Boys to the left and Girls to the right"

I am having the base on both side removed and replaced with a thicker base and putting a third bolt in the middle of the plate. I do not want this to happen again.

If you can get a similar plate on the underside you will spread the load bettrr. If not put on as big of washers as you can on each bolt underneath even if you have to shave off one side to make it fit

The of force of the top heavy bar and the flex of the bed when running hard are a tough combination and will test the strength of your bolts for sure

Good luck with it
