...Also something that helped a lot was to ride with some of the more experience drivers, most all of them will gladly use you as an excuse to go out 1 more time. Hit me up if ya want. This year I will be sunning the SVC bump stops and Deaver springs similar to your setup. The other thing riding with other will get you a small feel for what the different suspension set ups are like.

thank you! I may take you up on that. I'll PM you my contact info.

thanks to all for the helpful responses.

marcj33 where are you located?

Come out to Rausch Creek August 23rd to see what the park has to offer and get alittle taste of what to possibly expect for HITH2.

I saw that event posted in the expedition thread and was immediately interested.

I'm in SE Michigan and would be there in a minute, but I have my daughter that weekend and she has some commitments that can't be rescheduled.

You should be fine. Just remember that you DONT have an upgrade suspension and this is your FIRST time taking the beast out. Learn it. You're gonna hit some bumps and g outs harder then you should. You're gonna hit some slower then you should. Seat time will help you out.

Do a Prerun. Go to an offroad area and do everything you wanna do. Practice

Best advice for anybody new to off-roading. Just like when you learned to drive, you started off slowly and built up confidence from there. This is no different. I ran TRR with stock suspension, ran it quickly, and didn't end up with anything damaged other than needing new tires from all the rocks. You'll have to push your limits to know how much faster you can go, but don't push them so hard that you sprint past the line and end up severely damaging something (if that makes sense).

Makes complete sense.

By the time the event is here I'll have WSI springs. Svc bump stops and mid perch.

I have no intention of running and gunning it. I'll work up as my comfort and abilities increases.
