Just did a 2500 mile round trip of Lake Michigan and Lake Superior. While traveling through Canada at 55mph (90kph) my truck start to “surge” rpm would fluctuate about 200-300 rpm with no change in speed. Was always noticeable when slight accelerating up hills and on normal traffic.
Initial thought was bad gas. So I ran through 2 tanks and some fuel system cleaner and replaced an air filter. No change so far.
Also noticed a real rough start and at >2500 rpm a loud knock sounds like a diesel.
I’ll make an appointment for Ford but wanted to check if anyone had similar issues.
Searched the cam phasers but that seems to go away once warm. This is constant for the past 1500 miles. Also start/stop is now disabled. But no lights or codes pop up
