for sure need to know more of the story, was it in the up position for vent? did a stone or rock hit it?

That is very strange

No, nothing hit it. If something did, I certainly didn't hear it.

It has been closed for the past few months because I'm in Florida, it's super humid and hot and it rains literally every day.

The only thing I did differently today was open the shade because it's sort of overcast.

wonder how involved the replacement is. feel lucky it's under warranty, I bet that shit is expensive.

I'm not encouraged they'll cover it. Seems there are several lawsuits out there right now over this very issue.

Plus the S.A. right off the bat said "I don't know because we have to investigate whether something else caused it. Maybe something hit it."

Wasn't getting a warm and fuzzy feeling from her.

My seal was dry rotted on my old sunroof. The panel itself is held in with 4 torx screws and takes 10 minutes to replace with 20-30 minutes adjusting it in place. They basically take pictures of it, then they wait 2-3 weeks and will let you know while you sweat bullets during that time. The panel is 800 bucks so I figure with 1 hour labor maybe 900-1000 installed. Ford should cover it for you but it doesn't mean they will. If they have an out they will take it. Just the way things are these days.

If they even think of acting that way, or taking 2-3 weeks to "figure it out", I'll be trading it toward some other brand the second it comes back from repair.

In the meantime, I'm going to have to rent a car to get around. They don't have any loaners.

Don't make idle internet threats.

Let me get this straight.

So if the Ford dealership wrong's you. Then you will trade it in for another make's vehicle.

ok

but that is after you paid for the repair.

And we all know that will be less expensive than what you will lose during the trade in.

So instead of just saying that sucks, paying for it and moving forward. You are going to try and take it out on Ford by trading the vehicle in to another dealer and taking more of a financial hit during that process.

..........totally makes sense. Nothing like flushing your own money to try and make a point to someone else that doesn't care.

And no, the rather high trade in values won't save you after all the taxes, dealer fees, mods you have made, etc.

Interesting. but you do you bro.

Well let's see what they say first because right now I don't know.

My feeling is (theoretically) if Ford won't stand behind the truck for this, what other repair or defect might they refuse to stand behind later on? Isn't that the point of the warranty? This is my first experience with a Ford product, and I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Insurance already says they will take care of it if Ford won't (I'll have to pay a deductible). But if they take 2-3 weeks to figure it out while I spend $40-$50/day on a rental car, yeah that's really gonna **** me off. And if I cannot trust Ford to cover something broken through no fault of my own on a 6 month old vehicle, I'm certainly not going to spin the wheel and subject myself to that kind of uncertainty in the future.

Outside of the roof shattering, there is no other bad news as of right now. I'll wait to see what the verdict is. They said they'll call tomorrow. I suspect this is going to take a while no matter what.

Then you better go Chevy or GMC, that is unless you want to go foreign cause Dodge is putting those big ass windows in theirs too.
I couldn't find one Raptor 802A without a moonroof anywhere near me. The closest one I found was in Colorado, and I'm in NJ. Drove to Pa to get mine and it still had the glass. Dealers love the option cause it brings them more bucks from the Mall Crawler crowd.

Same here. I can’t stand sunroofs. I put 5% tint on mine and have never opened the sunshade. That’s as close as I could get to no sunroof at all.

On the previous F-150 body (09-14) no sunroof models gave you two sunglasses holder compartments. Is that true in the 15-20 models?

WHy do you need 2 sunglass holders for? Shit, I don't even use my holder, I throw mine on the dash or stick it in the sun visor loose!
