I read on "that other forum" about someone's Raptor tailgate being stolen and he was quoted over $5,000.00 to replace it, yes you read right over $5,000.00 bucks! I don't remember seeing that post here but there were some good idea's about a way to stop or at least slow down a ****** thief. Most of the after market tailgate locks look pretty cheap and some are nothing more then a plastic covered hose clamp with a special tool to work the clamp. From that post the idea of installing a stainless steel hose clamp (.99 cents)and tightening it with a flexable screw driver to make it very hard to remove the clamp. May not stop a thief but at least slow him down enough to maybe catch him in the act and go trunk monkey on his ass! I do lock my tailgate and have a Bakflip 1 but the one time I would forget would be my luck. Here are some pictures of my tailgate with the clamp installed.

I did mine today (will post pics later). I choose a heavy duty stainless steal hose clamp ($2.50). It was harder to install than the type used here, but I figure It would be harder to remove as well. :waytogo:

FYI. You might want to grease the shit out of the hinges before doing this mod, because your not going to want to remove this set up when the tailgate starts to squeak. Just my opinion.

Here you go. These pictures show the type of clamp I used. The one lying on the tailgate is slightly smaller than the on attached to the hinge. Again, it's the same idea, If you just want something simple to slow them down you could even use a heavy duty cable/zip tie.

you can just pop the lock.... but if you have both, its just added insurance.
