You didn't try brushing? Reports are it flattens out really well.
It doesn’t look as good as spray. I used a brush to touch up my drop shackles and they look like crap, good thing you can’t see them.

I Just thought I would mention it since no one else did. STEEL-IT is great for multiple reasons including easy touch up. It comes in Gray and now Black.

The trick thing about STEEL-IT is that it is an anti-corrosion coating and it is fully weldable. No need to grind down to bare metal.
Its main application was developed for military defense and then was widely adapted in racing.

I painted a bunch of stuff with steel-it including deavers, intercooler brackets, SVC bumpstops. Steel -it is a great product but nothing like linex.

have you tried it on a radiator/intercooler? Asking for a friend o_O

It's (almost) never a good idea to coat a heat exchanger.

That’s what I thought too with powder coating, but its thermal conductivity is based on the level of thickness applied and therefore insignificant if used properly on a heat exchange component.

I know Steel-It has polyurethane and it’s thermal conductivity is low, but it’s also made up of metal compounds hence the stainless steel and being able to weld on it.

I was just wondering what effect it would have on heat transfer unit like a radiator. You can use Steel-It on an engine with no effect, but something more sensitive like a radiator/intercooler? I’m unsure of what other ingredients are used.

Why am I a *******? It’s a simple question. Either contribute to pass on knowledge or don’t bother.
Sorry, I thought that was completely sarcastic!! I would not use it for either of those applications, it’s too thick and would retain heat. Again my apologies

The real issue is not to coat the cooling fins of the exchanger. You can safely coat the end tanks though.
