I just don't see a big enough difference in the brightness of the tails, stock vs. LEDs to justify a change yet...other than for looks, but still would need to tint and clear coat the lenses...

Additionally, I was under the assumption the any resistors were built into the Spyders...

Maybe RSI can come up with something that looks as good as their headlights?:winner_second_h4h:

Yea the resistors are built in but I think he may have bad/faulty resistors some how.

I went with the Recon smoked red tails and have no issues so far. There had been reports of dirt or water getting in them, but are a sealed unit with the exception of the reverse bulb connection.

What worked for me:

1) Make sure you use the rubber grommet/washer that comes with your stock reverse bulb connection (sometimes this gets left behind or falls off during assembly

2) Apply silicone to coat the entire external (NOT internal) reverse bulb socket after it is securely in place (very cheap insurance, and can easily be removed if the bulb has to be replaced later).

Result: No issues with dirt accumulation at TRR and other offroading forays. No water accumulation with heavy rain and carwash forays.

Funny you should mention this. lol
I just got in a set of lights yesterday to take apart but found out the hard way that these things are fused together and not glued together like our headlights.
Was trying to come up with Sequential tail lights but this has put a damper on things.
Anyone know how to un-fuse plastic?
