Not true at all!
Any and all exhaust components take time to “break in”.

This means a couple things….

1. They go through a few heat cycles meaning they expand and contract which moves things and clamps may need to be adjusted.

2. Carbon build up.
Exhaust notes change over the first 1k miles as they build up carbon on the interior of the pipes or muffler material. This includes the long pipes which basically adds “insulation” to them to take out higher pitch tones. Also builds up on all the connections which changes the tone.
The harshness / raspiness dies down or goes away due to the carbon build up.

I have a 100% stock exhaust and have this on order.

And yes, a pipe can “break in” as Drew said, carbon build up will change the acoustical properties.

I agree about the pipes breaking in. Same way a suppressor gets a little quieter after you run it a while.

I’m in the middle of installing mine. It does not work with the AWE 2FG without modification.

It should work the AWE. Both AWE and SPD are both interchangeable with factory components.
What needs to be modified?
