Controversial issue but I'm thinking of adding 2-3" high-quality spacers to my stock set up. Reason? I like the tires to be out of the body for a more intimidating stance and better protection as well as a bit more roll resistance off-road.
Definitely go with hub centric spacers. I added 1.5" hub centric spacers from BORA to my stock wheel and suspension setup and they are working great, but I did have to do some very minor wheel well trimming in the front to fix minor rubbing issues. I can't say for sure, but a 1" spacer in the front should probably work with no issues. If you go with 2" to 3" spacers, I'm not sure how you would make that work with a stock setup.
