So I'm heading to SoCal, hopefully, Monday to get my final upgrades done. I'd like to hear from any of you vets of the runs about what I need in my chase rack, aside of the obvious jack, wheels, gas and fluids.

Any input is appreciated.

Man wish I could make this run, but new hours and new days off make it difficult to make runs :( when I get back from my deployment I definitely want to go on something, whether a light drive or maybe Sherwood again since that was a blast!

Ok I sent it! Don't sell my info dude!

I make no guarantees

Did you actually open any of the PMs Bigg? Lol

Not yet, but I learned from the last run that it's pain in the butt opening 15 pm's to grab the info and then messaging back 1 by 1. I can just copy and paste the titles from my inbox this way.

Sounds like you have a great start and the basics are covered. If you're getting a custom rack made or have a way of tying it down, this would be a great addition Professional Mechanic's Tool Set - 301 Piece

Gordon turned me on to it and it's an awesome tool set for the trail. It's compact and pretty much has any tool you'd need to fix your truck on the trail.

We'll miss ya buddy! Don't forget Icecobra's run is Labor day weekend. Plus, I'm working on something and I'll keep you in the loop ;-)

Has anyone come up with some ingenious way of securing extra fluids for offroading? I have everything in a Pelican case, but the fluids get beat up with all the extra tools and straps in it. I'd hate to have a quart of oil break open in the case while offroading....

I have two '12 stock wheels for sale if anyone wants a matching spare. $175 a piece. No tire or TPMS included. I rather not ship because finding boxes are a pain, but I can ship at your cost. I'm in Central Cal, just south of San Luis Obispo.

i just put my extra fluids in the back cargo space in the door its not enough room for a full oil change or tranny fluid change but it holds the basics and they have not flown out yet.

Less then a week to go!

I tested out the converted files on Gordon's lowrance and it worked great. So anyone running a lowrance, ill have the micro sd for you to load or you can load them yourself from the email I will send out later this week. Ill send everyone the gpx file for the app and the lowrance format.

Also, I believe there's some concern out there about what to expect out there and whether or not you need a bump stop for this run. I would not worry if you don't have a kit. There are no serious g-outs to cause frame damage. There is a section you can catch air if you want but as long as you don't go all out you'll be fine. The terrain is great for first timers and experienced guys.

Again, you must have a radio for this run!

If you don't have one yet, you can order this handheld from amazon. It's a wouxon and its pretty neat as you can just use the dial to turn to what ever frequency you want. I just tested it out on weatherman frequency and it worked with my icom. Only $129 and works on UHF as well.
