Just got a 14' SCREW (love that term ha ha) in November and b/t Holidays and getting ready for snowmobile season it's been a fire drill to try and fully delve into this truck.

Like many Raptor owners...it's my First FORD since my 87 GT and my 94 SHO which I thought would be my last....

But I LOVE this truck. Came from an 08 Sierra Denali AWD and really liking 99% of what I have w/the Raptor vs. what I had w/the Denali.

Some things I am not loving...and have questions/comments on are the following:

1: No Visual individual TPMS sensor pressures for each tire. Had this on my truck and have it on all my other vehicles now too. And for a truck that has optional bead lock wheels or that many will air down...it's simply half a$$ and insane this Truck does not have it. I can only assume FORD is still bitter over them/Firestone causing us all to have to have these stupid things by law...but once used to being able to see them...it sucks not having them....Kinda Like V1 Arrows vs. any other Radar detector w/out arrows. I covered this in the Tires section too. If any of you electronic's wizzards know a way to display the individual pressures through the OEM systems please share.

2. No 3mm Mini Stereo Jack anywhere in the truck...that I know of anyway. While USB ports are great as are the RCA connectors....what does one do if you want to stream iHeart Radio from your Droid or iPhone b/c that does not work when interfaced through the USB to Lightning connector and I assume the same for mini USB to USB for a Droid....and this connector is so universal and simple...I would think FORD would have included it. Is there an adapter that will work (I'm worried the phone will go into charge mode or something)??

3. NAV GUI...in a simple summation...is pathetic. This is an almost $60K truck and it's 2014 and my NAV...all 3 viewing options....is right out of an Atari 5600 at best. Compared to my Infiniti from 2003 or any GMC NAV we've had since then (The 03 was my first factory NAV) and or Garmin etc....this Ford screen is just horrible. Is there any way to improve it?

4. Home Screen....I don't want to Bluetooth my Phone...never liked the way it sounds. But the GD Home screen loses 25% viewing area to this stupid section on the top left always waiting to do this. It would be AWESOME, if like EVERY OTHER NAV/RADIO GUI I know of that you could segregate "some" screen to Climate/Audio, and the rest to the NAV screen...instead of NO NAV and All the other stuff....which outside of the Radio channels are pretty much set and forget per trip. Any customization here???

That's about it. I know many Hate or don't love the stock Audio...and I can hear why, but luckily for my wallet I can live w/that. Would just love some of the more flexible conveniences I "had" in the past w/this truck which otherwise is nearly perfect.

Thanks for any help in advance....Much appreciated.:happy160:

unfortunately everything you stated, you are pretty much stuck. you can however have a seperate tpms. thats not too hard. the aux audio input can be added by using aftermarket equipment, but its expensive. the layout, you are pretty much screwed.

For a 1/8" Mini Stereo Jack can't you just get an RCA=>1/8" Adapter?
I haven't tried it because I only use spotify which works fine over bluetooth, but that seems like it would work.

Edit: Something like this

LOL...nice....Glad it's not just ignorance...I guess ha ha.

Ok, so how would I be able to see my individual TPMS pressures?

What about a 3MM Mini Stereo to USB Adapter...or would that just basically make the phone act the same way? I would THINK this should work b/c I would be coming OUT of the phone's 3MM Mini Stereo Jack....

Too bad on NAV and Home Screen...Is that something these Synch updates or anything ever enhance?

Would that be better or the same as a Mini Stereo to USB adapter?

for some reason i didnt think about the rca in the center console and the cheap rca to mini adapter. a lot of sound processors have an aux input so when adding a new audio setup, you can also have the aux in

Congrats on the Screw. Welcome to FRF!

I'm not familiar with the 2014 model but doesn't it have the USB and the mini stereo jack plug in the dash panel like this pic?

Nope, '13+ we just get RCA and USB in the center console. No 1/8" jack or USB like that under the headunit.

I don't know if it's going to work with a usb audio adapter as that requires some driver support in the OS, and when it comes to windows embedded, I have about 0 faith in it. Might be worth a shot but honestly I kind of doubt it.

RCA=>1/8" though is all analog, nothing fancy, should work I would think. I've got a pile of adapters, I'll give it a shot at lunch.

Edit: Gave it a shot with RCA=>1/8", works fine. Just get one of these for $2.

Can you elaborate on the TPMS comment you made?

Thanks man...I assume when you say Analog, you mean in reference to digital, but...I would still pass sound in Stereo....correct?:happy160:

Edit: Just checked and YES, in Stereo...so MINT, thanks again Man.

Why companies change things like this for NO reason at all is mindless.

Ok, one thing down...Can we overcome anymore on my list? :)
