So they question the point of the raptor...which has a decent off-road setup from the factory stock as-is. The srt8 jeep is meant for? Going fast? A stock camaro SS can take a stock srt8 jeep in a 1/4. What stock vehicle can outdo a raptor in its specific design category? Keyword is stock. Just saying, I see more success on the raptors end for what it is aimed to do. Both vehicles are awesome though & have terrible MPG.

the people talking shit over there are just angry because there's now an SUV/light truck with 100 more horsepower in the same price range and it's not completely useless as an SUV/light truck, we should leave them alone, it's not their fault jeep screwed them over and the only thing they can think to do is try to make the raptor sound bad

and if anyone is wondering, MSRP on a 2013 shelby raptor is $61,629, base MSRP on a SRT8 jeep is $62,995

Shelby American Inc. - 2013 Raptor

now everybody knows where you can get your shelby raptor

lol, you know everything that's optional on that order form is from ADD or some other aftermarket company, just get the base and do the add ons directly from the aftermarket manufacturer if you don't already own a raptor and want a shelby raptor

Yeah I got that when the front bumper said stealth lol. Some mods are already done on my truck anyway. The flip cover, frame kit, and soon to be front bumper.

You can go to any car forum on the internet and the members will be split between true car enthusiasts with actual automotive knowledge and the mindless fanboys who completely ignore factual reality and get butthurt over anything that threatens their fantasy world.

If I never planned to go off-road and wanted a performance vehicle with space, I would pick an SRT8 every day of the week. It's great for people who need the extra space (for kids, dogs, whatever) and still brings a smile across your face when you mash the go pedal.

I wanted to get into off-roading a little bit since I've only ever driven on pavement before and thought it would be fun. The only choice available is the Raptor so I picked it. Yes, I use my Raptor as a DD and it spends 99% of its life on the pavement, but it is a blast when I do take it off-road and I enjoy the hell out of it.

If people really wanted to argue over somebody having an "offroad vehicle that never goes offroad" we should also argue that 99% of people drive a vehicle unnecessary for their needs. You generally buy the type of vehicle you WANT....not exactly what you need.

Both vehicles were built for a specific purpose and both excel at what they do and both have made a decent amount of money for their parent company - end of story.
