First I want to say thank you to y’all for the wealth of knowledge this forum helped me with, but my quest for a powerful ford continues. I wanted an R, but after years of looking I could never find one for MSRP, and that truck is not worth anything over that! I’ve always had the Lightning bug since the 90’s and discovered that Ford will make me one with 100K warranty, instead of that monstrosity they call a Lightning.

This will be a fun build, bone stock XL with 725hp under the hood! It’s a blast so far, I just need to get through break-in.

I have been fighting myself to not build my version of a new lightning. But I need 4 doors or more garage space.

I’ve three kiddos too, and had the 4 door dilemma as well. In the the end I told everyone that we have other vehicles everyone can be together in, and the only my favorite can ride in the truck with me!

Nice! I wish I'd of gone that route, myself....

It seems warranty is kinda the suck with the FP700 builds from what I've read. It seems if there's issues Whipple and FP both point fingers at each other as the fault and its a PITA to get fixed. The other issue I understand is the warranty is only valid stage 1 and you're stuck with the 100 mph limiter. Stage 2 dumps the speed limiter so you can rip, but they void the warranty.... Correct me if I'm wrong.

Great sleeper build.

Great sleeper build.

The way my dealer put it: “Since we put the Whipple on, if the whipple grenades the engine at 75k we’ll replace the engine and put your whipple on the new one if it’s still good.” Basically the Whipple warranty (3yr/36k) is just for the supercharger itself, and the extended warranty covers the truck. The way my dealership does it is they work in harmony since they installed it.

The 105 governor is a let down only because I hate rules, but honestly I will rarely go that fast. There is rumor that the 24’s is 135 mph, I’ll have to find out when I find some open road sometime.

Right on. I just was going off what I've seen with the FP700s which is the norm for most Ford dealers is they take every out to avoid warranty on any vehicle. Glad they'll handle it.

Id check on stage 2 and warranty voids. That truck and a 100 mph limiter wouldn't work for me personally.

Great truck and man I've seen some sweet builds on that platform.... If I could find a reliable dealer (& not ADM ripoffs) here in So Cal for a FP700 build I might do the same.
