Maybe you were kicking snow on to the engine while doing the doughnuts and it was steem you were seeing under the hood and not smoke. I know when I washout my engine bay and start the truck up shortly after this happens.

steam smells like burning rubber?

Good memory. 2600 miles on it now. 1900 or so just from Snowball trip.

Could have been steam, but really not much snow and only ran around for a few minutes.

Wilson, I was stopped and just turned off traction control. Long press, get the little yellow indicator light.

Might not have been anything serious. Burning rubber is a smell that is hard to mistake and not a good one to not know the source of.

Nah different smell than brake pads. Well this guy's might be pads, but the burning offroad smell isn't the brakes, trust me, I can smell my brakes now, gotta get em changed really soon.

Thanks for the input guys. I am just going to give it a good inspection in the daylight and then move on. On another note, sure was fun doing the doughnuts. Especially when the other vehicles all stopped to watch. Did feel a little bad(not) stealing their thunder showing them how a real truck throws snow while doing doughnuts and figure eights. Kids loved it too.
