Good luck when you get to it.
I did a partial slip on set on the wife's Expedition when we got it.
Never really finished, but keeps from slicing your ankles up getting in/out.
Was more work than I expected really.
Getting the running boards on/off was part of that.
Can't believe the quotes I got from places that would even consider it.
More said no thanks than those that wanted BIG $$$$
Haven't drove the Raptor in winter, salt, or chloride since getting it; since I do NOT want it to suffer the rusting out like that.
Hope it turns out well.

I picked up my truck from canada and was able to negotiate down because the rockers were pretty bad. If you plan on keeping the truck a long time id highly suggest getting it done because it never looks as bad as it is. The shop i went to cut out outers and reinforcement and even coated the inside so it wont ever be a problem again. 4k out the door. They did a very good job for the money. Cant even see the welds.image000001.jpgimage000007(1).jpgimage000000(2).jpgMessenger_creation_971038B0-2132-4598-9ACA-6C2D33C6825E.jpgMessenger_creation_F62359D2-2337-4B95-A855-DDFA72DC8956.jpg

I am getting ready to have it done on the 2013 Screw, looks like they did a good job.
Having it done on a screw is quite a bit more expensive if you're having the cab corner done as well.
The bed has to be removed for the screw...now way around that.
I believe a Scab does not need the bed removed.
My Cab corners are bubbled but have not popped through yet so will be a distant future repair.

When I'm ready to tackle the cab corners, I'll probably raise the bed with my 2 post lift then rest it on some 4x4's...I've seen a few youtuber's do that with great success, although they used a cherry picker/engine hoist.

We shall see...

It's an abitious job and a lot of work... I agree with rschap1..."Getting the running boards on/off was part of that"
Fortunately none of the running board hardware was rusted solid.
I'll be having the running boards blasted then I'll apply Raptor coating myself...estimates are crazy high so it will be a DIY project sans the sand blasting.

Hoping to do all that this summer.

Good luck with your repair. :happy107:

Yes as far as i can tell they did not need to remove the bed. Currently having fun dealing with rusty bed bolts for some bed accessories. Nut spinning below on one and one got stripped out. Going to head over to a buddies house soon and weld a nut on and grind off the other. 4 for 6 is pretty good for a rusty canada truck.
