Skid Plate Clip

Went to install my skid plate after doing a larger alternator and this clip is no where to be found. Doesn't show up in the Ford breakdown or atleast not on the one I found. Local Lowes possibly? Anyone ever had to order one or have a spare by chance? It's the clip that goes into one of the center two long bolts to secure to the frame. -Shane

Those are available from Ford. I would buy a couple for spares as they do wear out.

The Ford dealer will be able to get the part number. Once you have that, you can ship replacements on line.

I've had good luck finding stuff like that at the local auto parts store (Autozone, O'Rielly's etc). I wouldn't expect to find that at a hardware store.

That said, a quick Amazon search for "bolt retaining clip" returns lots of options. Right one depends on bolt thread size.

I had to replace one a few months ago and my local dealership had some in stock. W717461-S439 is the PN I believe, definitely verify though.

I either eBay or Amazon’d a bag of them. In the Friday grind home so I can’t check.
