Greetings, I am new to the forum and I plan on buying a Raptor in the next few months. My question to you SVT exsperts.
I will be moving to Hawaii this summer after I retire from the Air Force (the Raptor is my retirement gift to ME). I have driven my Titan all over the place while stationed there. Is the 7 extra inches wide going to be an issue? Does anyone have issues with the width? (I can only imagine the commments:ROFLJest:).
Thanks
JB

My wife did comment on the additional width with a smile on her face.

Seriously, it is noticeable and might negate the use of some automatic car washes. You'll get use to the added width without issue.

I drove a regular f-150 FX4 before buying my raptor and haven't seen much of a difference with the wider body. If you were in a car right now it might be more noticeable driving a raptor but since you'll be switching from one truck to one that's a little wider I don't see where it's going to be an issue.

the widest part of the truck are the mirrors, which are the stock width of a regular F-150, so in terms of parking spaces etc. its no big deal, now the wider tires do keep you out of some carwashes - good rule of thumb, anywhere you would have to fold your mirrors in on a stock truck the Raptor is going to be a tight squeeze - thanks for your service and congrats on your retirement and excellent choice in vehicles!

All true. It is also true that you will forget and run up onto a curb with your right rear tire when making a right turn. Count on it - it's inevitable.

Thx

Thanks, I dont EVER see me running a Raptor through an automatic carwash/paint scraper. What would be the point of owning one if you cant spend countless hours hand washing it?

I'm assuming you've been stationed in HI before...Are you retiring to Oahu?

I enjoyed having smaller vehicles in HI...Oahu for sure. It sucked just trying to fit my Nissan into places. My Jeep was awesome there. Big truck might be an issue, but there is at least one or two guys on here that have had the Raptor in HI.

Yes stationed there for 3.5 years, cant wait to get back. I had issues with the Titan there but with all the SCUBA gear I lug around, a full size truck is a must.
