Side mirror reflectors

Are these intended originally to be lights? I always thought they were reflectors but tonight I saw a 2009-2014 F-150 with the side mirror reflectors lit up along with the rest of the lights.

Just curious if I should get mine checked since mine don't light up.

They are reflectors. Some people do mod them with LEDS to mimic the F250 side view mirrors so that they light up.

Oh cool. They look pretty sharp when lit. Makes you wonder why Ford didn't go ahead and make those LED lights from the factory.

Any idea how much those LED mod lights cost?
