Lake Superior rarely freezes completely over. Last year was close with the number of consecutive days below zero, otherwise the last time was probably back in 1979.

Too warm so far this winter Joe. The "permanent" ice fishing huts aren't even out yet down on the bay in Baraga and L'anse.
