Just got off the phone with the regional warranty manager who told me that the dealership decided it was not a defect and that since it is past the standard 30,000 warranty that there is nothing that they can do to help me. She suggested that I get in touch with the dealership. Being that my warranty ends tomorrow I would like to get the problem fixed as quickly as possible. I haven't picked my truck up yet and am still driving the free rental that my warranty covered, any opinions on what my next move should be?

@FordService, can this be taken care of or does he need to go to a different dealer? @memberthttime92, calling the dealer and discussing will help you better understand their reasoning's. The dealer is the one that ultimately makes the warranty determination. It is likely the dealer will need to submit pictures for prior approval on the steering wheel peeling. Then the interior/exterior prior approval will respond back with an 'approved', 'conditional approval', or a 'not approved' decision. The dealer should be able to show you a print out of the response from interior/exterior prior approval. I hope this information helps.

I got off the phone with the regional warranty lady, who said that Rick from the dealership (that she had just spoken to) claimed the hole in the steering wheel was due to armor all (and said that door detent drying out and breaking apart is due to normal wear and tear, not covered by warranty).
I went to the dealership to talk to this Rick character who told me that he had never once seen my truck or the steering wheel but knows that the hole in the wheel was caused by me. After an hour of arguing with Rick (complete idiot who acted like he was far too important for me) the best he could do was "appeal" the decision that it wasn't covered...
But the regional warranty manager told me it was his (Rick) decision that it wasn't factory defect and that I caused it from driving it in the hot southern climate.
The bottom line I got from all of this is that O.C. Welch Ford will not help ford owners that didn't purchase their vehicle from their dealership. I came to this conclusion because it's exactly what the service manager told me, he said if I had purchased it from them that maybe they would help me.

You in Charleston, South Carolina according to your profile?
Looks like there is 4 Ford dealerships around that city that you can try.
OC looks to be near Hilton Head and Savannah.

I know this has been frustrating for you, memberthttime92. I'll be happy to document your feedback about O.C. Welch. Since we've been in touch before, all I'll need is a PM from you with any of the specifics that you'd like me to include.
