not the best pics, but looks the same as yours to me..
Sure the HELL does... about identical. Now I have to go back out and take the surface off and hit it with some dye. Swear the driver side bled through. Then again was being clucked at and in a hurry...

i think a lot of these early gen 2 trucks have this going on. there were a number of improvements made to the gen 3 chassis. if fortifying a gen 2 chassis you can also use stitch welding along the strut tower sheet metal or go even further with a frame doubler plate to stiffen the entire structure. I will try and get some photos to better explain

I got tied up trying not to go back to work full time and have not dyed it yet. But suspect the "cracks/ cleaner seeping" I thought I was seeing may have been paint vs. metal. Will be interesting to see what photos you have though!
