The cage looks great. From the picture above it looks like you could actually use the door and rear seats, which is key for me.
Would this cage work for a rally / race cage, or would there need to be a lot more tubing?
Update,
The still at the shop, the truck is coming along insane other than the fact the anti theft has put the truck in lock down and I need a Ford tech to get it unlocked for me.
1.
The first set of Raptor bedsides from Glassworks showed up today and they look really good.
2.
My new lights from Raptor Retro fit showed up and the only thing I can say is WOW, and they make me wanna
them. I never get jazzed up about cosmetic type stuff, but these actually put a huge smile on my face. The craftsmanship is insane and the details set them apart from all the others I have seen, and trust me, I've seen a lot come through our doors.
3.
Truck is getting wrapped as I type this,
4.
Wheels are back from powdercoat, mounted and look pissed.
5.
rear-end is going back in
6.
Rear cage paneling is cut and ready for dimples
I don't wanna jinx myself but it looks like the deadline will be met with some really late nights.
To answer your question about the cage, it depends on the sanctioning body that you would want to race in. I personally built this cage for my needs. If I was going to turn it into a race truck one day, I will add a lot more cross tubes. This cage is perfect for a daily driven raptor. We were able to tuck the cage so tight in the back, the rear C pillar tubes sit behind the factory plastic trim, and the rear seat sits right where it's supposed to be and doesn't get in the way of your knees. The cage is attached to the frame in 6 points, welded to the cab in the A,B and C sections as well as the radiused tube under the dash. I'm going to add a few more details to it when I get back from Texas, but it will do for now, and this year, I don't plan on using it. If you are interested in having something like this done, let me know. We are currently building the exact cage for another truck at the same time so it's working out really well.
Hope this helps answer any questions you may have.
Jarrett
P.S.
Sorry if it's been tough for anyone to get a hold of me. We are in over drive trying to get this thing done for Texas, so please leave detailed messages and I will get back to you.
Thanks
