Has anyone ever done a ported box for a single 12", shallow mount sub? Just wondering if there is even enough cubic ft for that option.

If you have done one, what was the cubic ft?

Well to have enough cu ft it will just have to be wider instead if taller. I know a few companies have loaded boxes (sealed/ported box + amp) I'm getting one like that, but 10" (I drive a ranger)

So I'm sure it can easily be done to specs needed. Depends on which sub to get.

That being said, I haven't seen anyone on here do that yet.

I've seen dual sealed 10" boxes hit 2.5 total cu ft that still fit pretty under the seat, takes both sides but that's fine.

I want to use the 12" shallow Type R that is about 3.5" deep and can run ported at .6 cu ft and ported around 1.6 iirc.

I just want to get some dimensions or a design so I can get this built and have it all at the house before the truck gets here. It's tough to find help it seems.

2 12s ported forward firing... Do it!

I'm looking more for one ported. I believe that will be enough for sure using the shallow mount Type R.

I've ran plenty of Type R's in my other cars. Weather it was one 12" or one 10" ported it's always been plenty. And I could eventually upgrade to 2 12". But one should work to begin with for sure.

I am running two 12 alpine type R's in a ported box, if you use the search function there have been lots of posts out there on different type boxes, raising the rear seat to fit bigger box etc. Including Birdman's excellent wright up on hooking up to the stock head unit.

Man, I'm not going to lie I've done a bunch of searching. I guess I just could not find it. I'll look some more, because that is a great start

20 minutes later I still cannot find info on a ported box. I've seen people talk about it but no one that has done it. . .
