Can confirm! :favorites13:

If you can locally Find some VP MS103 in a 5 gallon pail and empty the can in your tank, the truck should give you an extra few degrees of safe timing at WOT.

look like there is a Sunoco I can get to with GTX260 which is 98 octane!!!

They have leaded 116 but the cats REALLY wouldnt like that...

Maybe Ill buy a pail... Its all in good fun

baja mode, all TC and SC turned off. (if you dont turn ALL of the nannies off i.e.- one tap on the tc button, then press and hold for 7 seconds, the truck will pull power just before every shift).

I'd agree with no manual shifting. It sucks and is SUUUUUUUPER laggy/lazy.

Air down to 18-20 PSI. If you don't have traction bars or a torque arm, you'll want one before you're done. I would not want to hit any speeds over 40 mph on 15 psi.

I'd also try throwing some 98 octane in the truck. you'd be amazed how much more timing you can add on these things with 98 or 100 octane race fuel.

a 2 step won't do jack for you and Baja mode will mess with the wastegates to keep you into boost and minimize lag.

I do have Deaver +3s which help the rear a lot.

Thanks for the solid advice. I think a road trip to the sunoco saturday may be in order. I bet a 5 gallon pail of 98 isnt cheap.

edit: a 2 step would let me build boost at the line above and beyond what I can get out of brake boosting. I dont know if you can even do it on an automatic, I just know it from manual cars. I guess it would need more of a line lock type of deal which is a hard part.

all that will do is have you stuck at the starting line throwing rooster tails. the truck will absolutely not hook up off the line if you mash it at full power in the dirt.

Roll into the throttle heavy, but roll into it. don't stab it. You want to launch at less than full power so you can let the lugs on your tires dig and provide forward momentum.

you dont have paddles on the truck, so you have to adapt a bit when compared to legit sand drag cars.

Don't even brake boost?

edit: you also have to remember this isnt even going to be 1/8 mile, the launch will basically be the race.

dont use leaded race gas. beyond the cats, it will completely screw up your fuel system and make the truck feel like it jumped timing, misfiring all the way home, with the potential to cook cyls 5 and 6.

Baja 4H, T/C held, probably locked rear, air down a lot (probably 20 psi), don't slam on the throttle, steady (but aggressively) lean into it. Automatic shifting. Manual has its perks but not really when racing. The computer is faster and better than us.

Ignore the sport mode recommendations, it will not be faster in the dirt nor will you be able stop as quick. Baja is the sport mode for dirt.
