Not sure about anyone else has noticed this or not. But why is it that when ever people have an opinion on this forum and others. There are a lot of people out there that all they want to do is try to show you how wrong you are. Trying to pursued you to think that their opinion is the right/only/factual one?

I can understand if someone is asking a question in search of proper information. But to bash someone for their own personal opinion. Well that is just down right immature. I hope that someone has a problem with this thread because it is not only My Opinion but Fact. I respect everyones opinions especially when we are all joking around. but to just go out and look to try to turn someone's opinion around. C'mon people let it go already<GGG>! LOL

I don't get offended by very much, being a Drill Sergeant and in the military for 21 years has hardened up my skin enough over the years. so stab away guys have your fun point your fingers and tell me that I am having delusions in my head. Also that there is non of this happening on "This Forum". Hope to see you on the battle field (this forum) maybe we can share a good pun someday or maybe even a great fact here and there. Off the top of my head I cannot think of any instances you are referring to. However when it comes to opinions...well, everyone has one and they don't always jive with each other, that's why they are opinions. Facts on the other hand can be debated but are less based on personal preferences/beliefs and more on history/research/thesis/etc. Even facts are not always factual and often become opinionated. In the end people are people and will believe what they want to believe, right or wrong and not everyone acts the same or presents their sense of humor/demeanor in the same manner.

I do know that there is a lot of "poking fun" on this forum, though I doubt meant to belittle anyone. Personally I would prefer a forum that functions in this manor with a sense of wit, humor (dry or otherwise) and poking versus a straight-laced "let me create a post and HOPE I get a response" forum.

It seems to me that plenty of people on this forum have a history with each other (through personal interaction or otherwise) which I am fine with. They may "click" together but that is a fact of life, even military life (been there).

I have tried to explain my thoughts on what I think it is that you may be having an issue with or getting at in your initial post. On a personal note, I have nothing against anyone except Big J because it's been 4 days since I paid for my SVTO swag and it's not here yet.

<GG> Be a pretty boring world if we all thought alike. This board is diametrically opposed to the 'Z' because people here have respect for differing opinions. We don't have to deal with the petty, childish BS that permeates the 'Z'.

That said, I think we all need to be watching for that 'attitude' to drift over from the dark side. Having been banned for no good reason, as many of you were... has made me pretty protective of what we have here. You can certainly expect me to respond to any attempt to rock the SVT Offroad boat.

This great Country was built on the concept of the many outweigh the few. All we have to do is be vigilant, aware and protective.

I think this is pretty simple. Its one of our core principles here. "Debate the post, not the poster". You guys are going to get damn sick and tired of hearing me say that, but its the way we do things here.

DJ, if you've offered an opinion, comment... hell even a fact, prepare to have it debated. That's what these forums are all about. But don't let the debate cross the line from debating your point, to debating who's making the point. If you (or anyone) feels that line has been crossed, take advantage of Report Post feature and let us (the staff) deal with it (see here: http://www.svtoffroad.com/showthread.php?15-How-To-Report-a-Post). Don't respond in kind cause we'll be forced to deal with you too.

Remember too, in a forum like this, where written word is all we have, stuff is going to get misunderstood. That's a fact; we don't have the benefit of eye contact, tone of voice, body language, conversational context... all we've got is written word. Not everybody is good at expressing themselves via written word alone. Cut 'em some slack.

This is the internet. Not everyone is going to agree with you. FYI, this forum is like kindergarten compared to what's out there. Go over to www.viperalley.com and register and ask what would be an intelligent question on this site over there. See how you feel after being "welcomed" at a forum full of piranhas.

This place is tepid attitude wise. Grow thicker skin is the first suggestion I would make.
