If you are mounting on your roof you will have your ground plane, and more db is slight better 3db verses 2.4db. I use ham radio ICOM Mikll 706, multi band and with PCI intercom. see my build up for install. and we don't need no stinking programing cables!!! LOL

Just getting around to posting my radio decision. Appreciate everyone's advice and input. Thank you PCI for your help and support. As well as a thanks to eBay for great deals.

It's the Kenwood TK-790H (Remote Head), with the PCI 4 Link Pro Elite Package 2
2 Seat Intercom Kit, and wired my helmets.

Dan, does the bottom of the NMO mount interfere with the sunroof? My '14 has different ribbing to yours too (raised) so I think I will need to drill further back.
