Very cool. Springfield Underground is 3.2 million sq ft of leasable space. Food manufacturers can refrigerate it below zero for cheap since its so well insulated. That’s a sweet rate for secure, covered storage.Seems like there are caves all over MO. Springfield’s got plenty (natural and man made).
KC area is where I am. There are huge underground caves here where they mine out all the limestone (I think). I heard the Subtropolis is somewhere around 50 million sq ft underground. People store RVs, boats etc in them. Mine is $110 a month and only $30 a month for my trailer. So it’s cheap too.
