Hi guys - I currently have S2 Pro Fogs with the Wide Cornering lenses. Who runs these in combo pattern?

I use SAE's on the road. And have Squadron's in Spot. I thought the S2 Pro Wide Cornering would be nice but seems like I rarely use them - on road they're too bright and don't project enough to be useful anyways IMO, and pointed down the "splash" isn't really useful as well. Off-road they can be nice but "that much light" close to the truck doesn't seem that useful. Therefore I am wondering if a Combo lens would be better / more useful?

S2 are usually used for fog applications, as they are not as bright. Baja's bracket only allows for 2 Squadrons and 1 S2 to be mounted. Our brackets however allow 3 Squadrons which are popular. Most folks would do a set of SAE for fog use and then the other 2 lights for off-roading.

Since you have 1 S2 and 2 Squadrons I assume, i'd say that S2 isn't going to be much use with the SAE installed. Wide Cornering is usually what you'd use as a fog light, BUT you have the SAE for that.

Honestly, depending on what brackets you have, I'd recommend selling the S2 (or move it to your rear for a reverse light if you don't already have the S2 reverse lights) and buy a new Squadron for your front. BUT that depends on what bracket you have.

If you have your heart set on keeping the S2... how about a Driving/Combo amber light? Or maybe change it to a Wide Cornering Amber and use it in bad weather for fog purposes.

If it were me and I HAD to make a choice. I'd do Wide Cornering Amber lenses and aim them down for use in bad weather for "fog lights". You can get away with running them on the road without blinding others if you aim them down.

Thanks for the post. I have thought about S1’s but no real reason for me to. I have both Baja & your mounts (currently using yours). A lens change is easier, and already have GJ with S2’s in the rear with reverse.

Anybody run S2 Pro in Combo on the road and get away with it? Or do you have to aim them so far down that the spot doesn’t net you much benefit?
No doubt it will be better off road.

S2 Pros in a combo would be pointless if you aimed them correclty to use on public roads. The reason I say this is, the spot pattern. You'd have to aim it down below your headlights and it's going to be so low you give up the entire point of the spot portion. Driving/Combo work best when the spot is centered with your low beam cut-off.

Do you have a reverse kit already? if not use the S2 in the back and throw a squadron in there. You'd want the following to complete a reverse kit

Spacers: http://www.4x4truckleds.com/18-8-stainless-steel-unthreaded-spacers-pair/
Upfitter Harness (taps into the reverse light): http://www.4x4truckleds.com/baja-designs-ford-upfitter-wiring-harness-squadron-pro-sport-s2/
Splitter Harness: http://www.4x4truckleds.com/baja-designs-squadron-s2-wire-harness-splitter-55-universal/

OR if you wanted to control the S2 reverse lights from an upfitter and not automatically in reverse just get these to go with your S2 Pros:

Spacers: http://www.4x4truckleds.com/18-8-stainless-steel-unthreaded-spacers-pair/
Our harness: http://www.4x4truckleds.com/crystal...ness-for-2017-ford-raptor-s1-s2-reverse-kits/

No need for a splitter as our harness has it built in.

Of course if you already have reverse lights back there, ignore what I said and just change the lenses on the S2.

As I said, my money would be on the S2 Wide Cornering Amber so you could have some amber lights for crappy weather:

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll stick with s2’s up front and already have them for reverse as well. Sounds like wide cornering is the way to go after all.
