I’ve looked high and low for a specific mod I read about months ago. Can’t find it anywhere on here. Can someone help me find the thread that covers the modification Raptor owners can make to cover the front holes on the running boards? Supposed to keep blowback to a minimum?

I’m picking up a new ‘19 SCREW next week and excited to be a new owner.
Many thanks.

You completely lost me. What do you want to cover and why?

I assumed he was talking about a mod to fill-in these holes in the running boards. I don’t recall seeing such a post.

I haven’t noticed a lot of spray or mud coming up through those holes... not enough for a mod, anyway.

yeah, without mud flaps, you can spray the door pretty heartily and with the fancy door sensors, the unlocking can get compromised. I’ve been considering cutting a set of mud flaps to fit within the running board but haven’t gotten to it and someone one here probably has a better idea anyway.

The Weathertechs come with what they call a "midflap", it attaches to the running board. I still don't have my truck so I can't tell you how they work, but sitting in my basement they seem to be holding up well.

It may have been my mod your referring to?? I cut some pieces of thick rubber and plugged the front set of holes on the running boards. It was actually a mud flap from a dump truck that I cut up. It helps a little to cut down on the mud slinging down the sides of the truck. The part that bothered me the most was the door handle getting covered in mud.
The mud slinging issue isn't as bad on my 2020 with stock wheels as it was on my 2017 w/ 17x9 0mm offset wheels that stuck out about 1.5" more.
