Took out a concrete post with my drivers side one, apparently one of my favorite restaurants decided to install them in the empty lot next door while I was out of town. Prevented any damage to the actual boards or truck itself so that's a win in my book.

Ugg,, been there,, in a cheaper truck though lol..

Just bolted mine on , great fit. One thing I would recommend is getting a 4 larger diameter flat washers for the top of the assembly. The ones supplied can tip down on one side of the square slot where the bolt slides into. Mess around with the supplied bolt and washers on the bench and you will see what I mean. The square slot is cut big enough to allow for figment variations and the washer is a tad too small, it can cover the gap but only just by the hair of its chinny chin chin.
When tightening the nuts down from the topside ensure the washers don't tip into the slot. A bigger washer will ensure that doesn't happen.
Other than that mine didn't quiet match the curve of the running board at the top but you can't really see it walking around.

I would also suggest blue loctite on the rear most bolt that anchors the flare to the outside of the running board to keep it there.

I had the same problems as you did at first when i was trying to fit it in there by hand. I used a rubber mallet and was able to get it to sit flush and it also helped with getting the washer to sit properly.

I will start to ship some bigger washers with them.
On the fit been making them for some time now, sometimes they will not fit right. I have tried to figure out why. Only leads me to think the truck fender and running boards are a little off.
If you loosen the 8 bolts you can mave the running board a little.
I also will look into trying to supply the loctite.

Don't get me wrong, I love your product! Great value for the price! Great workmanship!

Just some small tweaks that's all.
I understand why you made the square slots with that much room side to side, so each truck fitment would have the wiggle room required, it's jus that the supplied washers for the top can pull down into the slot if not perfectly centered, then they end up not clamping the full span of the slot, only one side. The boards wiggle just a bit more.

a 1/4 inch bigger diameter washer would ensure no matter where the bolt is in the slot side to side the washer will span the gap
