Can you answer this. So you have a base 5/60k powertrain warranty.

If you add the ROUSH power pack, do you downgrade right then and there to a 3/36k powertrain warranty? And does this warranty start at anyone point you do this or it’s up to 3 years or 36k miles no matter when you do it?

Am I reading correctly that the Stage 1 and 2 are the same HP increase? Does the new exhaust not help provide additional power through less restrictions?

As you determined from their website, CAI and exhaust do not provide additional HP on our trucks. The exhaust is not a restriction unless you change the turbos and the standard intake is very efficient on its own. You can buy their CAI without a tune and there is no mention of increased HP.

The best HP bang for your buck is a 93 PRX MPT tune for about $700 which includes the tuner. You can add CAI and exhaust to any tune for increased sound, but that is all you get.

I have the PPL2 and like it for all the reasons you stated. You can also attach it to your 84/100K Ford warranty as well BTW (if you have it).

Is this provided anywhere in writing? A little bump in power and keeping the warranty sounds great.

So if you have a Ford ESP 8 year warranty the Roush parts extend out also? @Specialtyperformanceparts

Technically no. Ford excludes their EXTENDED warranties from covering any ROUS)H, Shelby American, Foose, Hennessey, ETC Products. That is BEYOND the 3/36. However, if it is an item not related to the engine with the extended warranty it would be covered. If you want an extended warranty on all the Ford and Roush stuff, I can get you one through a third party. It will mimic the Ford warranty and cover you on EVERYTHING once the 3/36 runs out.

Yes and no. Your 100% coverage on the powertrain is then 3/36. Roush will cover anything Ford doesn't. They won't cover up to the 5/60. However, it doesn't void the Ford warranty. It would be up to ford after the 3/36 if they covered an item up to the 5/60. The first 3/36 though, it isn't a question of that.

With most any CAI or Exhaust on todays vehicles, they do very little by themselves because the factory does such a good job of making them less restrictive than the old days. They don't post specific gains on the CAI, but it does have a high flow air filter and generally that is good for 8-12HP. The big gains will come with the tune though with it. 57HP and 73lbs of trq.

I was able to get just the Roush tune, its 400 from Roush but a Roush dealer can get it a lot cheaper, cost us like 260, and they charged me 140 to install it.

This is from the dealer I bou ghb HT the truck from and it's a Roush, not sure if it matters, didnt get the impression it did.

I would be wary on those third party warranties,
a couple of the Gen1 Roush guys had a nightmare with Roush's third party limited warranty and Ford.
And at that time you needed to buy two Supplemental Powertrain warranties from Roush if you wanted the Stage II Supercharger kit for the Gen1s
One Roush Raptor owner didn't see his truck for 8 months while Roush, Ford and the warranty company battled who was going to pay for new long block.
Soon after that the only way to get the Supplemental Powertrain Warranty on a Stage II Supercharger was to send the new truck directly to Roush from the Ford factory. And you still had to buy two warranties.
And the Tune was locked and encrypted.

Roush could have changed the third party warranty insurance company,
I can't seem to find anything about that.
As a matter of fact there doesn't seem to be a warranty for the Gen2 Pacs

Carefully read the "LIMITED" policy: I believe page 30 is for the Gen2 even though the pac number is not listed,
P/N: 422171 (1118TT-PERFPK1) Pac1
P/N: 422177 (1119HO-PERFPK3 Pac2
https://www.roushperformance.com/media/pdf/LimitedWarranty.pdf

Just reading these few lines makes this warranty laughable from Roush's FAQ page:
https://www.roushperformance.com/warranty.html
  1. Does the use of non-premium fuel void the ROUSH Limited Powertrain Warranty for Supercharged vehicles? Yes, premium fuel with a minimum octane rating of 91 is required to maintain Powertrain Warranty coverage. If fuel with an octane rating less than 91 is used unwarrantable internal engine damage could occur.
  2. When does the ROUSH Limited Powertrain Warranty start? The warranty starts at the vehicles in service date as identified by Ford PTS.
  3. Do aftermarket parts affect coverage for the ROUSH Limited Powertrain Warranty? The use of any non-ROUSH or emissions altering components will void the Powertrain warranty. This includes but is not limited to items such as aftermarket PCM calibrations, headers, intakes, supercharger pullies, etc.
