I am debating actually not getting one this time around. Every single vehicle I have ever had - I put one on and I have had 18 vehicles. I always thought it sounded faster but never really thought it did that much. I liked the more customized look it brought the engine bay and made me believe that I got rid of a choke point.

After I tried the special edition AFE metal closed intake on my 2017 Raptor - I did not really think it helped that much. I bought it back then for $890 and was blown away with their advertised gain of almost 40Hp. There were gaps and it did not seal tight for me (mine was one of their first batch’s).

Now I am thinking on my 2019 just to get a better filter and keeping it stock otherwise.

I almost didn't put one on my 2018 as I didn't notice the typical dead ended spaces in the factory tubing prior to the turbos. It made me think that the oem intake system was most likely not restrictive, but I have a problem and I am incapable of leaving things alone.

I can tell you we will ship our kit to you in CA. Also ours is a sealed box no drilling required. Now we also create a larger surface area for better flow along with a tapered down system instead of the factory style with smaller tubing under a bigger inlet. This will keep velocity up which will help spool the turbos quicker and get the better throttle response as well. My name is Jake call me or message me with any questions thank you. 313-561-5500

I definitely want to newer version with the lid. Otherwise it’s just sucking hot air.
And possibly water. When I had a 14 Mustang, I debated getting CAI and was advised not to since the 14's had real air intakes in the hood right above where the CAI would be sitting. Many had problems with water getting into the engine. I don't think they had any sealed box options back then.
