Hi All,
I had a Rhino Rack Crossbar System and a Basket on my Tundra and used it a lot for Gear and a Canoe. Now that I have a Raptor, I want to look at something like this: https://www.gobiracks.com/product/gobi-ford-f150-raptor-stealth-roof-rack/

Or this: http://www.rhinorack.com/en-us/products/roof/roof-trays/pioneer-platforms

I am looking for a lower profile as I could not fit into parking garages with my Tundra Setup. I work in the Sales Field for the IT industry so traveling to the city is common place for me.

Anyone have experience with a Gobi Rack or similar?

PS- I searched the forums for a thread on this before posting..Couldn't find one.

THANKS!

The Gobi Rack is VERY popular in the 4Runner world. Pricey but well built

I had the Gobi on my Gen-1. I liked the rack but hated the weight and wind noise. My biggest complaint was the fuel economy. Just putting the shovel and jack mounts up there dropped about 1.5 mpg. This might be nitpicky, but I wanted the rack to carry stuff on longer trips and having ****** gas mileage means I suffer more stops on longer trips.

My current truck has a cap with a Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform on it. If I didn't have the cap, I'd still look at the pioneer platform and maybe make it removable for the occasions where I know I'm not going to need it. The other really strong option for a roof rack I would suggest is Front Runner. The biggest piece of any roof rack will be the available accessories. You buy-in with a small cost for the rack and then get eaten by accessories. Manage your expectations upfront by planning accessories and you'll be much happier.
