Hello all- just recently installed an M-Rack roof rack from KCHilites with a 50" light bar up front.
Do any of you with light bars and roof racks ever use a car wash?
Or am I stuck hand washing from now on?
Thanks,
Paul

I never run my Raptors through a car wash due to the wider width and taller roof. I think you were stuck with hand-washing the day you bought a Raptor. (DYI or pay someone to handwash it for you...)

I got my 2014 thru numerous car washes. Be careful and look closely at the set up, track, any warnings, talk to the guys, etc. No problems. I wouldn't go into a sketchy looking little one however as it would be asking for problems.

I fit through the local carwash with the roof racks on my shell... The top brush must detect the racks as it never seems to get my hood or roof.

I’d say 9 out of 10 automatic car washes near me are not Raptor friendly even without the M rack. I have had a couple close calls. If possible, find one like the car wash I use:

No guide tracks for the tires or to pull the vehicle through. You drive in, stop when the light tells you, wait for the wash cycle, then drive out when signaled to do so (slowly through an air dryer).

No brushes or soft cloth, just water jets only.

Designed for larger HD work trucks. I take the lane with 8 feet of height clearance.
