Good luck. USAA is a shadow of what it used to be. Customer service, willingness to pay claims, and coverage options have declined while prices have increased. It used to be a solid benefit for military members and veterans. After my last two experiences with them I dropped their insurance for Geico and moved a lot of my banking to Navy Federal.

sue your own insurance company for the diminished value of the truck you just lost then switch insurance companies to someone who protects your assets better. This is the easiest method to make it work out, otherwise you are just SOL.

good luck with it.

That’s not how any DV claim I’ve done works. You can’t go after your own insurance company for DV. They’re not paying if you’re at fault. You file a DV claim against the other guys insurance company if they are at fault.

That said, as soon as a body shop gets this, they’ll provide an estimate and it’s going to get totaled. Make sure you talk to that shop and express your concerns as well.

Yes, here is some advice. Find out if you are in a diminished value state?

They will leave it in the body shop for 3-5 months fixing all that
The shop and the insurance company will play games until the come to some numbers that make it work for both of their benefits
In simple terms, the F150 is body on frame so it will be off by mm s and possibly more, no frame machine will pull out an f150 railroad rail frame.
My simple advice is don't say a word to you insurance company that you don't want repeated
work a deal up or sell it out right on your own once the work is finished
find another truck to your liking

It's difficult if not impossible to sue your own ins company due to arbitration clauses now a days.
To the OP, you need to talk to an adjuster. It's like buying a car, you negotiate. I find it hard to believe an adjuster looked this over, like others said you need someone to actually see it.

At least you and the dog are good! Yup, like others have said it will probably be totaled after you got it to a shop.

Glad you're okay! I have to agree with the above, as soon as a shop takes a look at it the estimate will skyrocket and it will likely be totaled. Even if the frame and driveline could be saved, the cost of airbags and all body panels will certainly make it a write-off.

FWIW, accidents like these are why I trust Ford trucks and the Raptor in particular so much. Could have easily ended up much worse for you and doggo so I'm glad to see the truck protected you well.
100% agreed. She’s one tough cookie. 3 days after I took home my 2019 I was sitting at a red light and got rear ended by a Dodge ProMaster 3500 whose driver fell asleep going 35. I jumped out and when I saw his broken trash Dodge I assumed the worst of what I was about to see on the ass end of my Raptor…to my astonishment all that I had was a dent in the tailgate as the rear steel bumper took the impact and brushed it off like nothing. They replaced the tailgate and bumper assembly and that was that. Solid fkin truck

The 30k figure should go in one ear and out the other. When a bodyshop looks at it it won’t take long to total it. Glad you and the dog are okay.

Curious of the price they will let you purchase it for. I doubt you would have trouble selling it. That would be a fun (yet expensive) project.

I used to work in insurance. That thing is totaled. Glad you are ok. Did someone from USAA actually inspect it or just look at some photos?

This is interesting, so Collision wouldn't cover it either? Some states have in acted laws to combat unscrouplous insurance companies.
