Rap your cage looks great. When we rebuild my truck, I am going with a third racing seat in the back also and probably more cross bracing like you.

Thanks G... It's a pain for the guy in the back to get in and out but I do like the idea of a couple extra support tubes. Besides, it's not me who has to climb back there so screw em'. Lol.

I'm glad to hear that you're rebuilding.

You're cool. You seem to know it all...
Not cool and not even close to knowing it all. But Thanks for the ego boost.

Below are 3 trucks that the caged didn't cost anywhere near 10K to have built and my head has never hit the b-pillar or was it even close
I have had multiple caged trucks, how many have you had?

Actually there is considerable wisdom in what Bigg50 says, especially about the helmet. I worked with a man whose daughter was in an auto accident that nearly killed her. What did nearly all the damage was the B-pillar right behind the driver's seat. The nature of the accident was that the B-pillar beat her skull to the point that it was like corn flakes. She barely survived and she'll never have a life.

Heed Bigg's comments. He's quite right, and there is a beautiful young woman with scrambled brains in north Alabama to prove it.
Not to be a **** but I'd like to see the cage in said truck and was she wearing a seat belt

I think the 10-15k range includes the cost of the interiors on the caged raptors, some people use some high quality materials and products and go to great lengths to make it look factory or better quality

Thanks for the all the feedback! Very interesting and educational!

The more I think about it, the less likely I think I will commit to a full cage. Helmets for everyone will have to suffice.

One of my main reasons for choosing the Raptor over another off-road truck was cabin space. With a full cage I would just loose too much space for the girls in the back. I would have preferred a much narrower truck over the Raptor, but the girls still willing to cruise with dad in comfort, be safe BOTH off road and on road, helmets seem to be the best option for me. Too many compromises.

I just have to stay clear of any suspension / power mods...used to do a lot of fomula racing and know my limits fairly well - however I always tend to drive at the limit...the lower that is, the safer everyone in the truck.

Jarrett's truck has a fully tucked cage, you can barely tell anything is different about the interior of his truck, there's a lot of extra space in the raptor for putting a cage in

There was no roll cage. The plastic covered B-pillar did that to her. Her seat belt held her in place so that the b-pillar repeatedly pounded her skull. If a plastic covered sheet steel B-pillar can do that, then a hardened steel roll cage that's in closer proximity to the head can do it even better.

Would you mind pointing me in the right direction in terms of finding some pictures of his truck - did a quick search on Jarrett, but he might have a different SN. Thanks for your help!

http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f98/shes-coming-back-life-19978/index19.html

That's the thread on Jarrett's truck, only the "B pillar" bars are exposed because he has a super cab, but it only sticks out as much as the B pillar on a super crew and on a super crew you could also have that hidden in the real B pillar

That looks like a brilliant setup! Thanks for the link. It's a big commitment to go such a route, but for the moment I think I will focus on going baby steps. Just curious are there any options just in seatbelts without changing seats?

Jarrett is now user named Ford *** incase you wanted to pm him about his cage.

Lol! I think I actually might have met him at the Raptor roundup in Vegas this year!

Wondering if there is any sense of running a cage outside the cabin - something along the lines of some Jeeps that I have seen out on the trails. :signs75::signs75::signs75:
