GEN 2 Rodentgate part 3

Happy New Year everyone!

Some of you might remember me as the guy with issues regarding rodents chewing through my wiring harness. It's happened twice in the past year. Well I wanted to give you a new update.

I was driving this evening and noticed my fog lights were not working. None of the upfitter switches were working. So I pulled over and opened my hood to check my fuses and found this fun surprise.

Rats got into my wife’s engine bay and chewed up the hose for the windshield washer fluid. I had an Audi in the garage and rats chewed up the plastic cover under the engine. I ended up getting a couple electronic traps and that stopped any of that from happening again.

How long does your truck sit? Did he do that overnight?

Your damn wires were in the way of his new house!! About 40 years ago a buddy had the same thing happen with a 454 SS Chevelle that he had. He drove 20 minutes to work and when he got there he investigated a weird smell from the front of his car. Same thing you found, a nest with the squirrel still in there! I've never heard of it again until now. I was shocked they could do that in one night.

Had a chipmunk living under my last trucks hood. He would occasionally pop up in the trough by the wipers while I was driving. Never found a nest.

Try a Rid-a-Rat light. I’ve had success using them. I’ve got one in the Raptor that lights up that exact area behind the battery.
