Just got done installing the Rigid SR-L backup light kit from @Specialtyperformanceparts . All I can say is wow! The harness to the tail lights and the front engine bay are all OEM quality. Very impressed. I am looking forward to their fog light kits. I certainly won’t have any trouble backing up my driveway now.

How hard are these to install? I am not mechanically inclined (except for firearms), and have a fear of F'ing something up on my truck haha.

Instructions were a little confusing and hard to read. I recommend using a computer or iPad to see the pics better. You will need a good set of crimpers for the connectors. Other than that, not too difficult.

The good news is you can setup the connectors at a desk/table inside. You don't have to be on your back under the truck when you do that part. The rest of the installation is very easy. I really like the harness to the tail lights. No damage to existing wiring.

Here is an install video. This should show a little more detail. It covers all the rear light kit options, but as far as adding connectors to the lights, connecting to the switch wires, etc. It gives a better perspective as well.

I watched John’s video on these and have a question about installing them with his prefab harness——do they stay illuminated in red whenever your
lights are on or only when you’re in park?
